It is the final United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) weekend of the year and Jorge Ortiz is looking to make it a winning one. Making the switch to Gary Willis Racing, Ortiz will battle the X30 Pro Junior field this coming weekend at the New Castle Motorsports Park facility in Spiceland, Indiana. Sitting sixth in the drivers’ point championship, Ortiz is looking for a winning weekend.
“I am ready to get going,” explained Ortiz. “New team and a new program for me, and I am looking to make it a winning one. Gary Willis and Gary Willis Racing (GWR) have been known for their speed and success, and I only hope that I can help them continue that trend.”
Moving to GWR, Ortiz will also utilize a potent Tony Kart chassis. Sitting just outside the top-five in the X30 Pro Junior championship standings, Ortiz is aiming for the podium’s top step to help catapult him into the top-three.
Ortiz added, “I am confident that I have everything at my disposal to have success, and this weekend could be a great momentum builder for the remainder of the 2022 season. I love the New Castle Motorsports Park, and have had success there, so I will be looking to continue that trend.”
With on-track action beginning Thursday, a second test day will take place Friday before wheel-to-wheel action commences over the weekend with two separate race days as round seven of the 2022 USPKS takes place on Saturday with round eight on Sunday.
