With the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour coming to a close this past weekend, Supertune was once again at the front of the field. Showing speed in both Mini ROK and Junior ROK, the Indiana based Tony Kart program scored pole positions, heat race wins and podium finishes as they build momentum for the rest of the 2021 season.

After claiming the United States Pro Kart Series victory the weekend prior and scoring the pole position and heat race wins in the Florida Winter Tour finale, Diego Ardiles entered Sunday looking to top the results sheets in the Mini ROK class. Showing pace throughout the weekend, Ardiles would have no luck in Sunday’s final as a light mist began to fall making a difficult Ocala Gran Prix facility even more challenging with the slick conditions. Battling at the front of the field and ending the on-track action in fifth, Ardiles was dropped to seventh in the final standings after a start line penalty relegated him down the order.

Karsyn Walters had her best career result in Florida Winter Tour competition as she was inside the top-ten throughout the weekend. Showing her true strength in Sunday’s main event, Walters was able to keep her nose clean, avoid penalties and advance forward to eventually be classified in the fourth position.

“Our Mini ROK program has been on an upward trend, and we have proved that the Tony Kart chassis works,” explained Ben Cruttenden. “Diego was often the class of the field, but things just did not fall his way on Sunday. We will shift our focus to the next event and try again this coming weekend.”

Jorge Ortiz put Supertune on the podium in Junior ROK with an impressive wet weather drive to the second position. Courtesy of his three event results, Ortiz was able to secure the fifth position in the Junior ROK title chase. Noah Baker, a championship hopeful heading into the weekend, came to a quick end in Saturday’s prefinal after contact sent him to the tail of the field. Driving from 25th to tenth, Baker will aim for the top of the results sheet next week as he starts his third championship program of the 2021 season.

With little time off, Supertune will now shift their focus to this weekend’s Superkarts! USA Winter Nationals at NOLA Motorsports Park. Stay tuned to the Supertune social media pages for news, information, photos and results from the event.
