Jeremy Fletcher delivered a strong comeback performance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past weekend, earning a second-place podium finish in Race 2 of the Mazda MX-5 Cup with McCumbee McAleer Racing.
Fletcher began the penultimate Mazda MX-5 Cup event of the season by qualifying fifth. In Race 1, he brought his Mazda home in tenth after a challenging opening race.
The second race provided an opportunity to fight back, and Fletcher made the most of it. Starting from fifth once again, he worked his way through the field to secure second place at the checkered flag and add another podium to his 2026 campaign.
“It’s great to come away from Indianapolis with another podium, especially after a tough first race,” said Fletcher. “We had good pace all weekend, and the team gave me a car that allowed us to fight our way forward in Race 2. I’m proud of the recovery, and now we can take that momentum into the GR Cup weekend at Barber.”
Fletcher will now shift his attention to the penultimate event of the Toyota GR Cup season, returning to Barber Motorsports Park with Copeland Motorsports. Fletcher enters the weekend second in the championship standings and will look to maximize every opportunity to collect points as the season approaches its conclusion.
The Barber Motorsports Park weekend will get underway Thursday with testing, followed by two practice sessions on Friday. Saturday will feature Qualifying 1 and Race 1, with Qualifying 2 and Race 2 bringing the weekend to a close on Sunday. Fans can watch all of the GR Cup race action live at grcupseries.com/watch-live.
