Jeremy Fletcher delivered a strong weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in the Toyota GR Cup North America series, securing a podium and a victory with Copeland Motorsports as the championship completed its penultimate event of the season.
Fletcher started the weekend with a front-row qualifying effort, securing second on the grid for Race 1. He held his position at the sharp end of the field throughout Saturday’s race, crossing the line third to claim another podium.
The strong pace continued into Sunday’s action. Fletcher once again qualified second, putting himself in position to fight for the win. He delivered when it counted, moved to the front, and took the checkered flag in first to close out the weekend with his latest GR Cup victory.
“It was a really strong weekend for us in Alabama,” claimed Fletcher. “To qualify on the front row for both races and come away with a podium and a win is a great result. The Copeland Motorsports team gave me a strong car all weekend, and I’m proud of how we executed. Now we get to turn our attention to the MX-5 Cup finale and finish the year strong there.”
Fletcher will now shift his focus to the season finale of the Mazda MX-5 Cup at Road Atlanta with McCumbee McAleer Racing. The weekend will bring the final two races of the championship, with Fletcher looking to carry the momentum from his successful GR Cup weekend into the final event of the Mazda season.
Track action at Road Atlanta will begin Wednesday with two practice sessions. Thursday will feature qualifying followed by Race 1, while the season will officially conclude with Race 2 on Friday. Fans can watch the Mazda MX-5 Cup season finale live at imsa.com/tvlive.
