It was a busy weekend in Alabama as USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire competed alongside the NTT INDYCAR Series. Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) brought seven drivers to Barber Motorsports Park, and the team came out of the weekend with a handful of solid results.

JHDD’s Liam McNeilly brought home the team’s best finish of the weekend in race one. After starting seventh, McNeilly fought forward and finished just off the podium in the fourth position. Other JHDD USF Junior drivers had strong performances in race one as well, including G3 Argyros, who finished in 11th, and Ayden Ingratta, who gained seven positions in the race to finish 13th.

Race two saw more impressive drives from the JHDD drivers. Ayden Ingratta again moved up the field, crossing the finish line in eighth after starting in 15th on the grid. Both Hudson Potter and Aidan Potter also battled their way forward in race two, with Hudson Potter starting 24th and finishing 16th and Aidan Potter starting 25th and finishing 12th.

Timothy Carel had a tough weekend at Barber, but he hopes to make up ground in the next race weekend at Virginia International Raceway in June. Ava Dobson was involved in an accident in race one and did not compete in race two.

“The biggest thing is that Ava is okay following the crash in race one as it was a big one,” Team Owner Jay Howard expressed. “This weekend had its ups and downs, but the whole team worked hard, and we achieved some solid results. I think our USF Juniors drivers learn each time they take to the track, and I’m excited to see them continue to develop throughout the season.”

Rounds six, seven, and eight of the USF Juniors season will occur at Virginia International Raceway June 14-16. Before that, the JHDD team will head to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the month of May for rounds six, seven, and eight of the USF2000 and the USF Pro 2000 championships.
