The F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda kicks back up again this weekend at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) for the penultimate event weekend of the season. Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD), the current runner-up in the team championship standings, looks to take over the driver championship lead with young driver Michael Costello before the weekend is out.
“We are still in contention for the championship now,” explains Team Owner Jay Howard. “Michael has been staying focused and training hard during this two-month break. This weekend will separate those in contention for the championship and those who aren’t, and we want to make sure we’re at the better end of that heading into the finale. The JHDD team’s full focus for the rest of this 2023 season will be on the F4 U.S. Driver Championship.”
JHDD will begin their weekend at VIRginia International Raceway with a pair of test sessions Thursday morning. Friday will bring a single practice session followed by a qualifying session to set the grid for race one Saturday morning. Saturday, the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda contenders will see their first two wheel-to-wheel races of the weekend, followed by the weekend’s final race on Sunday morning.
