Completing a single-day test last Friday at the World Wide Technology (WWT) Raceway that saw James Roe turn the fifth fastest lap during the second half of the day, the Irishman will be back in the saddle this coming weekend. Rejoining the HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing program, Roe will pilot the #11 entry during round eleven of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires program.

“It was a great test with the HMD Motorsports boys last week and just builds on the confidence that I have in this place,” expressed Roe. “We weren’t the quickest so there is still a little work to be done but great to be somewhere on the charts where I feel I deserve to be. If the times seen at the test are anything to go by it will be extremely tight. Looking forward to the race this weekend.”

Scoring a pole position at the WWT Raceway in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires in 2021, Roe went on to earn a fourth-place result in the 55-lap race. Fast forward one year, and now Roe will have the opportunity to better his race results in Indy Lights this weekend.

Roe added, “To say I am excited about the progress in just one race weekend and a single test day is an understatement. I see how hard the guys at the shop work and how much they want to win, it is driving me to work even harder. There is no giving up in me.”

James Roe and his HMD Motorsports teammates will hit the track this Friday for a single fifty-minute practice session prior to qualifying early Friday evening. Saturday will feature a relaxed morning with no on-track activity until the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires field goes racing at 3:15pm CST.
