JAK CRAWFORD CONTINUES WITH BIG EVENT LEGENDS CAR RESULTS

Houston, Texas driver Jak Crawford threw his hat into the ring of the Legends Car world late in May 2017 and now, after five months of experience, has become a multi-time race winner.

It has been a successful few months transitioning to cars as illustrated by the culmination over the past two weeks: a Young Lions World Finals road course championship and a third place result at the US Legends Asphalt Nationals.

Taking place at the Atlanta Motorsports Park facility in Dawsonville, Georgia, Crawford would enter the World Finals event piloting a Chase Pistone, Inc. prepared racing machine and hoping to prove his road course prowess to a new racing audience.

“It is very cool to drive a legends car on a road course,” explained Crawford. “I grew up on twisty karting tracks so it is natural for me. The oval is where I am still learning a lot but I knew that I would be good turning left and right. Taking the lead on lap three after starting second, I was able to hold on for the win, one of the biggest ones of my Legends car career so far.”

After severely flat spotting his right front tire, Crawford held off the advances of a fellow competitor in the final few circuits as the duo battled hard for the victory. Wheel-to-wheel on several occasions and twice swapping the top spot on the final circuit, Crawford would skillfully win the race and take his first career Young Lions World Finals victory.

A week prior to his road course victory, Crawford was once again on the podium, this time at the Las Vegas Bullring, a 3/8 of a mile oval track in Las Vegas, Nevada, the site of the US Legends Asphalt Nationals.

Competing in the Young Lions division at the big national race, the young competitor, Crawford, was a model of consistency throughout the event and when the green flag flew for the main event, kept his nose clean and advanced forward to a third place national podium result.

Crawford continued, “I think it shows great that we can be quick and be on the podium in back-to-back weeks on an oval, and then on a road course. I will be gunning for podiums again in a few weeks’ time during my final two karting events of the 2017 season.”

Jak’s next on track action will be in Portimao, Portugal as a member of Team USA Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals before returning back stateside for the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jak would like to thank OMP racing gear and Bell Helmets USA for their protective race gear. A big thanks to Legends Car marketing partner Mobil 1. More thanks to Chase Pistone, Inc. and their entire crew who work tirelessly to provide the best equipment possible.
