Set to compete in the USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports driver Jack William Miller will sample Indy Lights machinery this coming Friday at the annual Chris Griffis Test. On track Friday in the Abel Motorsports prepared Dallara IL-15, Miller will return to his familiar Tatuus PM-18 on Saturday and Sunday alongside Jackson Lee in the USF Pro Championships Fall Combine at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).
“I have been looking forward to and preparing myself to make the move to Indy Lights for quite some time,” explained Miller. “I have my career goals set for myself, as well as goals for this weekend and look forward to getting started. A huge thanks to Abel Motorsports, Patterson Dental, and Indy Dental Group for the opportunity.”
While the single-day test will take place on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Friday, Miller will begin his 2023 USF Pro 2000 preparations beginning Saturday and Sunday at the annual Fall Combine. As a perennial front-runner in the series (formerly Indy Pro 2000), Miller will aim high next season as he aims to fight for race wins and podium results with experience on his side.
Miller continued, “We really turned a corner mid-way through 2022 and showed what we could do speed-wise at Road America, Indy, and other facilities. We have some work to do to battle for the title, but this team never gives up and we will fight hard every race weekend.”
Joining Miller at the Fall Combine will be Jackson Lee, a 2020 Team USA Scholarship winner who has competed in the USF2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires during the last two seasons. Completing a test with the Miller Vinatieri Motorsports program last month at GingerMan Raceway, Lee performed very well and never put a wheel wrong.
“It was a new car, new track, and a new team environment for Jackson, and he did very well,” explained former INDYCAR driver and MVM Team Owner Jack Miller. “After getting up to speed, Jackson was right on par where we expected him to be. Indy will be a much more comfortable environment for him as he will be on a track that he knows well and will be able to run with other drivers throughout the two-day program.”
