JACE BACON SCORES A PODIUM HAT TRICK FOR CROWN RACING IN TORONTO

Toronto, Ontario greeted the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series with some wet weather for their first street course and first race north of the United States border in 2023. Racing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the 31-car field put on a show for Canadian spectators full of speed, slip-ups, and surprises as the weather made the competitors and teams make difficult decisions to have their chance at victory.

Among those surprises was Crown Racing’s Jace Bacon. After starting off his weekend with an on-track incident in both practice and qualifying, the 17-year-old Pro 1340 class driver piloted his #999 APEX Motor Club branded car to third place on the podium not once, not twice, but three times over the course of the weekend.

“We definitely had a tough start to the weekend,” explains Jace. “I made a few mistakes in practice and qualifying resulting in a lot of work for my team, so I’m happy I can make it up to them by bringing home three podium results. Thanks again to Crown Racing, they’re the hardest working team out there.”

Jace’s work this weekend has now put him in third in the driver championship, only five markers behind his father Seth and 42 points behind the current championship leader. Jace also secured additional points for the Crown Racing crew in the Team Championship.

“We’re nearing the end of the season,” added Bacon. “So, all eyes are on securing the championship in the last few rounds. We need to keep pushing to make sure that I am on top as the Driver Champion and that Crown Racing is on top in the Team Championship.”

Alongside Jace, father Seth earned a trio of top-five results including a second-place finish in race two to stand on the podium with his son in second and third.

Jace will look to continue his momentum at the famous Circuit of the Americas (COTA) located in Austin, Texas at the end of the month for the second to last round of the Blue Marble Radical Cup North American season.
