The Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series is heading to a close this weekend at a new track this year, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. With three championship titles still left on the line, it’ll be an intense weekend for all 38 competitors in attendance. Crown Racing’s rookie driver Jace Bacon is one of a few still in the running for the Pro 1340 championship title and hopes he will come out of the weekend the 2023 champion.
After two runner-up results and a win at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Jace leveled up to second place in the championship surpassing his Father, Seth Bacon, who now sits in third. Jace sits a mere 13 points behind the current Pro 1340 leader and hopes to move to the top these last three rounds of the season on the California coast and bring home first in the championship chase.
“There’s still a championship possibility for us,” explained Jace. “We’re going to have to work really hard to stay on top all weekend to secure the title. The Crown Racing team has done a phenomenal job this season, so it would be very special and well-deserving if we could bring home both the driver and team championship in the Pro 1340 class this year.”
With only two practice sessions on Friday, Jace Bacon will progress into qualifying that afternoon for race one. Saturday morning will see the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend in race one with race two to follow in the afternoon. Race three will take place Sunday morning and a champion will be crowned before the weekend is out.
