This past weekend was the final round of the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour at Ocala Gran Prix and Speed Concepts Racing drivers were once again at the front of the field. With pole positions, heat race wins and fast laps, Ayden Ingratta, Scott Roberts and Mathias Ramirez all claimed top-five finishes over the race weekend and were all Vice-Champions in their respective classes.

Competing in the Junior ROK class, Ayden Ingratta battled hard at the front of one of the most competitive grids over the weekend. As one of the championship hopefuls entering the event, Ingratta’s championship was all but ruined with a prefinal incident on Friday due to no fault of his own. Starting from the tail of the grid on Sunday, Ingratta put on a veteran type drive gaining seventeen positions and driving forward to a fourth-place result.

Scott Roberts was the driver to beat in the Master ROK class this weekend scoring the pole position, three heat race wins and prefinal victory. Jumping to the lead early in the main event, Roberts was shuffled back to fourth before making his move back forward. As the first driver to the finish line and earning enough points to win the championship, Roberts received a post-race push back bumper penalty dropping him to third on the results sheet for the weekend, and second in the series championship points battle.

Overcoming a heat two incident that put him further back on the prefinal starting grid than expected, Ramirez was able to work his way back to the pointy end of the grid in Sunday’s main event. Showing speed and taking advantage of some fellow competitors’ misfortunes, Ramirez climbed back to earn the third step of the podium, gaining enough points to be name the Shifter ROK Vice Champion.

“Finishing second in the championship in three different classes hurts, but we were able to show the speed of our Redspeed chassis and Speedlab engines in Junior, Masters and Shifter,” explained Mike Speed. “It was a great Florida Winter Tour for our team as we showed our strength earning several race wins, podium results, pole positions and fast lap honors. Congrats to Ayden, Scott and Mathias for all of their success.”

With no time off, Speed Concepts Racing will travel to NOLA Motorsports Park for the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour. With the WinterNationals event kicking off their national championship, it is a fresh start for Speed Concepts Racing drivers.
