HOMETOWN EVENT FOR RYSPEC RACING

As the 2023 Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season rolls along, the Streets of Toronto will provide a new challenge for teams and competitors. Competing for the first time on a temporary circuit, Radical racers, including five from the RySpec Racing camp, will make their mark at the team’s home event over the July 14-16 race weekend.

“It is an exciting weekend for us, and one that we have marked on the calendar since the schedule was announced late in 2022,” explained the 27-year-old Team Owner Richard Yin. “A hometown event, five drivers, we are anxious and ready to go!”

Returning to action this weekend will be Blue Marble Radical Cup North America Road America Pro 1500 podium winner Robert Soroka and 2022 Pro 1340 champion Austin Riley as they both continue their quest in the Pro 1500 ranks in 2023. Showing top-five pace in every round this season, Soroka and Riley are looking to finish their hometown event with a trip to the top step of the podium.

For the Toronto round, Radical Cup North America will see an influx in entries from the FEL ERCC program with three additional drivers competing in the Canadian 1340 division. Flying the RySpec Racing colors will be the likes of Jake Cowden, Peter Hanson, and Connor Bell, all of whom will race on the track at the same time as their North American counterparts but scored separately in a different class.

Yin continued, “It will be an interesting event for sure. A temporary street circuit lined by barriers is never forgiving so we will work with our drivers to approach the weekend slowly and complete all session laps.”

RySpec Racing is owned by 27-year-old Richard Yin who is a former mechanic in the series working for the Canadian Radical East dealer. Operating as Chief Mechanic and Team Manager, Yin also worked south of the border for other non-Radical race programs.

Yin added, “Naturally I am super excited to run one of the largest events in Canada. Great job to all the guys and gals at Radical Cup for putting something like this together and making the North American program truly racing throughout North America.”
