The annual kick-off to the famed Month of May in Indianapolis took place this past weekend with the Mini Marathon, but now it is time for the runners to make way for the drivers. Taking place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indy Grand Prix will see two rungs of the USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire, including USF2000 and USF Pro 2000, where Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) will have five entries.

“May in Indianapolis is a special time, but nothing would make it more special than winning,” explained JHDD’s Jay Howard, a former NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver and Indy 500 competitor. “We have five drivers racing this weekend, which means there will be five winning opportunities in each of our races this weekend.”

Four of those five mentioned drivers will come from the JHDD USF2000 program led by Evagoras Papasavvas. Earning five podium results in five races this season, the second-year driver sits second in the championship chase and is hungry for a win and the point lead. Michael Costello and Tanner DeFabis will join Papasavvas in the quest for results, while G3 Argyros will trade in his JHDD USF Juniors machine and compete in USF2000 this weekend.

In the USF Pro 2000 side of the program, JHDD will enter Frankie Mossman, who currently sits seventh in the championship point standings, a mere 14 markers away from P3. A threat each and every event, Mossman will look to find his way to the top in Indy.

Howard added, “We have a great group of drivers who we know can run up front. I’m looking forward to a good weekend in Indy.”

Set to hit the track Thursday for unofficial testing, qualifying and wheel-to-wheel racing will commence Friday and run through Saturday. Stay tuned to the Jay Howard Driver Development social media pages for news, information, photos, and results from the event weekend.
