Looking to make it easier and more affordable to make the move to car racing, Ricky Hollingshead has launched Hollingshead Racing. Working with a group of industry professionals to spread the word and advance drivers, Hollingshead Racing will compete in the World Racing League (WRL) with a pair of Hyundai Veloster TCA machines.

“We kicked around the idea of this for quite some time and working together with a few key people, have come up with a solid plan to help advance drivers,” explained Hollingshead. “A big thank you to Alberto Gonzalez for all of his help, hard work and motivation to put this together and to Rick Maxson, Farshad Bagheri and Mike Maurini for helping us get started in this project. We can’t wait for our first event.”

“When my son Tyler was making the move from karts to cars it was a little daunting,” added Alberto Gonzalez. “Now that we have done that, both the right and the wrong ways, we look to pass those experiences onto the next set of racers. The WRL is a diamond in the rough of a series. This is the perfect way to experience endure style racing without endure style prices, and I think Hollingshead Racing will be a breath of fresh air for the industry.”

Set to compete at the Daytona International Speedway during the June 4-5 weekend, Hollingshead Racing is prepared to enter a pair of Hyundai Veloster TCA cars in the fourteen-hour event. In a multi-driver endurance program, Hollingshead Racing is aiming to have four to five drivers per car to keep the overall costs of each event weekend low. Future events will take place at famed tracks including Heartland Park, Road Atlanta, High Plains, Virginia International Raceway, Hallett Motorsports Park, Sebring International Raceway and the Circuit of the Americas.

Hollingshead added, “We have a trio of drivers signed up for the first car and a ton of interest for the second car. Offering an affordable program, this is the perfect opportunity to compete in a real race car for a similar price as the national level karting.”

With a full arrive and drive program available, Hollingshead Racing takes care of pre and post event media releases, event registration, fuel, tires, consumables and more. Just show up with your suit and helmet and drive.
