HMD Motorsports made a statement over the Fourth of July weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, delivering one of the most dominant performances in team and series history. The Brownsburg-based team swept the doubleheader with Enzo Fittipaldi, secured the first 1-2-3-4 finish in INDY NXT by Firestone history, and added another double podium to cap off a remarkable weekend. As a result, HMD Motorsports leaves Lexington, Ohio, with the championship lead, with Fittipaldi holding a 17-point advantage over teammate Tymek Kucharczyk.

Fittipaldi led the charge with a flawless performance, topping practice, securing the pole position for both races, leading every lap of the doubleheader, setting the fastest lap in both races, and sweeping the weekend with victories in Race One and Race Two. The Brazilian delivered a masterclass performance and further strengthened his championship campaign, moving him to the championship lead.

“Great weekend here at Mid-Ohio,” commented Enzo Fittipaldi. “We dominated from start to finish—P1 in practice, double pole, and double win—really nice. The pace in the last race was very strong, and the team did an amazing job. They gave me a great car, and I could just go out there and perform, so I’m very happy. Thank you to everyone at HMD Motorsports. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be racing here and performing at such a high level. We’ll continue pushing and move on to the next race.”

Jack Beeton also enjoyed a breakthrough weekend. After a challenging start to the season, the Australian arrived at Mid-Ohio ready to capitalize. In Race One, Beeton secured his first career INDY NXT podium result with a third-place finish, completing an all-HMD Motorsports podium sweep. He carried that momentum into Sunday, improving to second place and securing a 1-2 finish for the team. Following the weekend, Beeton moves into the top-ten of the championship standings and now sits eighth.

Kucharczyk continued his remarkable run of consistency, keeping himself firmly in championship contention. The Polish driver charged from fourth to second in Race One with several impressive overtakes before adding a fifth-place result in Race Two. Through 12 races, Kucharczyk has now recorded ten top-five finishes and added another podium finish to his growing results resume.

Salvador de Alba also earned his best result of the season in Race One, finishing fourth and completing the historic 1-2-3-4 result for HMD Motorsports. The Mexican driver added an 11th-place finish in Race Two to round out the weekend after a small off course excursion mid-race.

“What we accomplished here at Mid-Ohio is something we’re very proud of,” commented HMD Motorsports Team President Mike Maurini. “To make INDY NXT history with the first 1-2-3-4 finish is an incredible achievement for this team. Everyone executed at a high level this weekend. The crew and engineers gave our drivers great cars, and Enzo, Jack, Tymek, and Salvador did an outstanding job taking advantage of that. It’s a great result for our organization, but our focus now shifts to Nashville as we continue fighting for the championship.”

HMD Motorsports will now turn its attention to the second oval race of the season at Nashville Superspeedway. The Music City Grand Prix, which serves as Round 13 of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship, will take place July 18-19.
