Fresh off a season-best performance at Laguna Seca, HMD Motorsports heads to the Pacific Northwest for Round 12 of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone championship. HMD Motorsports will field an eight-car lineup for the Grand Prix of Portland, August 8–10.
New to the lineup, Nicholas Monteiro is set to make his INDY NXT by Firestone debut with HMD Motorsports in Portland. Monteiro will simultaneously wrap up his USF Pro 2000 season, competing in the series’ Portland finale. Joining him is Caio Collet, who scored back-to-back victories in Monterey. Collet’s charge for the championship ramps up as his impressive performances in California brought him within reach of the series lead.
Local favorite Josh Pierson returns to the grid, thrilled to race in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Pierson aims to carry forward the momentum from his first and second career INDY NXT by Firestone podiums secured at Laguna Seca.
Rookies Tommy Smith and Juan Manuel Correa will aim for strong weekends on the final road course of the year. Alongside them is Hailie Deegan, who earned her career-best finish in the INDY NXT by Firestone series in Monterey. She looks to continue this upward trajectory and break into the top-ten.
Rounding out the pack is Nolan Allaer, who both showed impressive pace at Laguna Seca, moving up nine positions in Race 1. Aller is motivated and determined to fight for valuable championship points in one of the final opportunities this season.
“We celebrated Laguna Seca, but now our full focus is on Portland,” commented HMD Motorsports Team President Mike Maurini. “There’s a real sense of hunger and optimism throughout the team. With just three races left, everyone is pushing to the limit. We won’t be leaving anything on the table.”
Be sure to tune in as the action kicks off on Friday with Practice 1 at 4:00 PM ET on FS1. Practice 2 will start the INDY NXT by Firestone track action on Saturday at 4:30 PM ET on FS1, followed by Qualifying at 7:30 PM ET on FS2. The Grand Prix of Portland will air live on FS1 on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET.
