HMD MOTORSPORTS LEADS TEAM AND DRIVER CHAMPIONSHIPS HEADING INTO INDY

HMD Motorsports is gearing up for the first double-header event of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Championship this weekend, May 13-14, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Indy Lights Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Over the course of only two days, the Indy Lights drivers will take to the track four times in a jampacked weekend at the famed venue. Last season, HMD Motorsports swept the top step of the podium winning both races with Linus Lundqvist and David Malukas.

Continuing with five entries in the series, HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne racing has added Antonio Serravalle to the team in place of Manuel Sulaiman, who was with the team at the two previous rounds. No stranger to the series, Serravalle has competed in Indy Lights the past two seasons but will be making his race-weekend debut with the team this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the #11 entry. In preparation for the upcoming event, Serravalle tested with the team this past week at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Couse and quickly improved his pace, catching up with his new HMD Motorsports teammates.

After a strong start to the season, HMD Motorsports drivers are looking to make this a weekend of firsts. Danial Frost just missed out on a podium finish in Alabama and is hoping to get his first podium of the season. Benjamin Pedersen, who already has two podiums this season and six podiums last year, is still looking for his first Indy Lights win.

Linus Lundqvist is eager to return to the Speedway after claiming a win at the venue last year. Lundqvist is on a roll so far this season and is currently leading the championship after claiming a win at Barber Motorsports Park and a third-place finish at the season opener in St. Petersburg.

Since joining HMD Motorsports this season, Christian Bogle has continued to improve. Last month, HMD entered a series test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Bogle continued to close the gap to his teammates and is now in a place to battle for positions.

NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver David Malukas will be kicking off his first full Month of May as he gears up for his rookie Indianapolis 500 with Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports. Last year in Indy Lights, Malukas finished first and second in the pair of races held on the road course.

This weekend, Indy Lights will lead the NTT INDYCAR Series through the weekend, with both series completing practice and qualifying on Friday. Indy Lights will see their first race of the weekend on Friday evening. Saturday will see both series back on track for one race each.
