The month of May in Indianapolis is here, and this weekend, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will see its first bit of track action for the Sonsio Grand Prix on the track’s road course circuit. Accompanying the NTT INDYCAR SERIES is support series INDY NXT by Firestone for their first double-header of the season on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course.

The Brownsburg, Indiana based team is set to compete with the same ten-car lineup they’ve been sporting for the first two rounds this season. Driver of the #39, Nolan Siegel, is currently tied for the championship point lead heading into the weekend after a stellar second-place finish at Barber Motorsports Park to accompany his race winning performance at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Rookie Caio Collet, who took home the fastest lap of the race in Alabama, is second in line for the team, standing fourth in the points total and leading the Rookie of the Year honors. Myles Rowe in sixth, Reece Gold in seventh and rookie Jonathan Browne in ninth are also making their mark inside the top-ten. Kiwi Callum Hedge sits just outside of the top-ten standings in 11th, followed by veteran Christian Bogle in 12th. Josh Peirson, Nolan Allaer, and Niels Koolen are all geared up to earn more championship points this weekend.

“We had a good test at Mid-Ohio earlier this week and were happy with the speed,” explained Team President Mike Maurini. “Looking forward to this weekend, we have a pair of races, so there are a lot of points on the line. A good weekend here could be great for the championship and based off what we saw and learned Tuesday in Ohio, I am confident we will have the pace to compete.”

The double-header weekend will feature a single practice session followed by qualifying and race one of the weekend on Friday. Saturday will feature one final wheel-to-wheel battle in the afternoon. You can be a part of this thrilling event from the comfort of your home. Livestream the INDY NXT by Firestone Indianapolis Grand Prix races via Peacock TV or INDYCAR LIVE.  Audio commentary is also available via the INDYCAR Radio Network, ensuring you don’t miss a single moment of the action.
