HMD Motorsports is back in action this weekend, June 15–16, at the Worldwide Technology Raceway for the first oval event of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season. The team will bring a seven-car lineup, featuring several returning talents and a new addition to the roster as the series heads into a pivotal stretch.
Fresh off podium finishes on the streets of Detroit, Caio Collet and Juan Manuel Correa will look to keep the momentum alive as they take on the high-speed 1.25-mile oval just outside St. Louis. They’ll be joined by Josh Pierson, who recently captured his career-best INDY NXT finish in Detroit and continues to show strong progression in his third season. Rounding out the regular lineup are Nolan Allaer, Hailie Deegan, and Tommy Smith—each eager to gain experience and capitalize on the unique challenges oval racing presents.
The team is also excited to welcome Davey Hamilton Jr., who joins HMD Motorsports for his first INDY NXT by Firestone start of the season. The veteran open-wheel driver is slated to compete in all oval events this year with the team.
“This race marks an important transition in the season,” explained Mike Maurini, HMD Motorsports Team President. “Caio and Juan showed tremendous speed in Detroit, Josh is continuing to climb, and we’re looking forward to seeing what Davey can bring in his first race with us. The team has worked incredibly hard to prepare for the challenges of oval racing.”
The event weekend will run on a shortened schedule, with practice airing live on FS1 and qualifying broadcast on FS2, both taking place on Saturday, June 15. The 55-lap feature race will take place on Sunday, June 16 at 4:30 PM ET, and will be broadcast live on FS1.
