HMD Motorsports, the Team Champions in 2021 and Driver Champions in 2022 and 2023, enter the INDY NXT by Firestone series finale this weekend at the Nashville Superspeedway. The largest oval event on the 2024 calendar will see eight HMD Motorsports drivers battle for supremacy as they look to end the season on a high.
With Caio Collet already earning the 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone Rookie of the Year honors, the Brazilian has earned one win and multiple podiums this season but is looking for his first podium result on an oval. Nolan Allaer returns to the team, piloting the #10 car, and will be running his first oval of the season after testing earlier in the year at the Milwaukee Mile. This comes after driver Reece Gold reveals he will not be racing in the season finale following his crash at the Milwaukee Mile. Rookie Callum Hedge, who competed with Collet for the Rookie of the Year title, returns to the #17 machine as he looks for a solid event to secure the fourth position in the Driver’s Championship. Rookies Myles Rowe, Jonathan Browne, and Christian Brooks will take on their largest oval as they will join veterans Christian Bogle and Josh Pierson in the final race of the 2024 season.
“It has not been the season that we hoped for this year, but we have a chance to end it strong this weekend in Nashville,” explained Team President Mike Maurini. “Behind the scenes, we have been working hard, and look to see the results of that work on the results sheet when the checkered flag flies on Sunday.”
The two-day race weekend will feature a pair of practice sessions on Saturday followed by single-car qualifying. The season’s final race, the Music City Grand Prix, will go green on Sunday at 11:00 AM (CDT). The full on-track schedule can be found below.
