As the 2024 season reaches the midway point, HM Propela driver Lucas Nanji continues to make waves. As one of the top karting prospects coming out of Canada, Nanji has rocketed his way to race wins this season and he looks to carry that momentum into the second half of the season with the goal to move up the motorsport ranks.

“Lucas has shown he has what it takes to not only be a racer but a winner too,” explained Hugo Mousseau. “He is a front-runner in Canada, and when he travels south of the border, he is in the fight for race wins and podium results.”

Starting his fourth season in the Senior karting categories, Nanji claimed top honors in both Senior MAX and DD2 MAX at the 2024 Coupe De Montreal. Beating nearly 50 drivers in Senior, Nanji doubled up on the wins by earning the checkered flag against 20 competitors in DD2. Moving forward in the season and competing at ICAR, Nanji earned two more top-five results, including a P5 effort in Senior and fourth in the two-speed DD2 class. Courtesy of his front-of-the-field and consistent finishes, Nanji and HM Propela lead the championship standings in both categories.

Starting his motorsports career quite late compared to the rest of his peers, Nanji has enlisted the help of Hugo Mousseau. Working together since the age of 13, Mousseau has worked with the likes of current Formula One driver Lance Stroll and looks to take what he did there and transfer that down to Nanji.

Mousseau added, “Lucas has what it takes. The speed, the drive, and the commitment. For starting at such an older age compared to his peers, he has fast-tracked his success courtesy of hard work and more effort than others.”

Lucas Nanji will complete the 2024 season at the karting level before evaluating options for 2025 and beyond.
