With the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season wrapped up, all focus now shifts to the annual Radical World Finals where Radical racers from around the world flock to compete for the illustrious championship title. This year’s Radical World Finals will take place in Portimao, Portugal at the 2.892-mile track of Algarve International Circuit, October 16th through the 22nd. Radical Cup North America regular Gregg Gorski plans to make his return to the World Finals this year in the Pro 1500 class.
The One Motorsports driver finished third in the Pro 1500 Championship this year claiming five third-place finishes, one second-place finish and a single win on the Streets of Toronto. On top of that, Gorski finished third in the 2022 Radical World Finals race which took place at Spring Mountain Motor Resort near his hometown of Las Vegas. Competing against 18 other drivers in his class and 36 total drivers on track, Gorski took home two third-place finishes in heat one and two and a second-place finish in heat three. Gregg ultimately took home second runner up in the World Final race, a feat he will be eager to beat in Portugal this year.
“I’m excited to head to Portugal to not only race in the Radical World Finals but also the Michelin Le Mans Cup,” expresses Gorski. “It’ll be a challenging weekend, but I can’t think of a better way to close out the racing season. I managed to race my way into third in the World Finals last year and will be aiming for that top spot this year. I’ll definitely be using the ample seat time between the two series to my advantage throughout the weekend.”
This year’s Radical World Finals will have a similar schedule to last year’s where drivers will take part in a couple of practice sessions, then a single qualifying session to compete in a total of three heat races amongst multi-class racing before the much anticipated World Final race.
Gorski, the experienced driver that he is, also plans to try his hand at double-duty driving this weekend, taking part in the Michelin Le Mans Cup series in the GT3 class the same weekend with Leipert Motorsport out of Germany, a team Gorski has driven for in the past. The Michelin Le Mans Cup series will take part in a single test session as well as a pair of practices before a single qualifying and single race over the course of the week.
