As the Formula Race Promotions program crosses over the halfway mark, championship battles have begun to take shape. Heading to Summit Point Motorsports Park, teams and competitors will be aiming to start the second half of the season with momentum in their hunt for race wins, podiums results and ultimately the end of the season championship.

In the F1600 Championship Series, Simon Sikes and Rice Race Prep lead the way as they sit fifteen markers ahead of Team Pelfrey’s Dexter Czuba. Sikes has a handful of race wins to his credit while Czuba has been a model of consistency over the nine events to date in 2020. Max Esterson trails his Team Pelfrey teammate by three points while Rice Race Prep’s Jackson Lee sits fourth with the top four drivers separated by only twenty points. Dylan Christie makes it a trio of Team Pelfrey drivers in the top-five and will look for some strong results in West Virginia to claw his way back into the championship battle. With sixteen entries this weekend, some competitors outside the top-five could find themselves in the thick of the action when the green flags fly.

It has been all Brandon Dixon in the F2000 Championship battle as the multi-time champion has scored six wins in six races and leads the championship by a whopping 149 points. Mitch Regadas has slotted himself into the second position with Robert Wright and Luca Mars in third and fourth respectively. Perennial FRP competitor Dave Weizenhof sits fifth.

Alex Mayer has been a force all season long in the F1000 class and will aim to continue his winning ways this coming weekend. Tim Pierce will look to have something to say about it as he will battle Mayer at Summit Point along with the likes of Jason Slahor and Rhys Myers.

The Right Coast Formula Ford Series (RCFFS) has twenty-two entrants for this coming weekend led by multi-time 2020 race winner Phil Kingham. With a wide array of Formula Fords ranging from 1969 to 2011 and several different models, the RCFFS brings some nostalgia and history to the Formula Race Promotions event weekend.

“Thank you to each and every team, competitor and supporter of the series for helping us work our way through 2020 and these changing times,” explained Bob Wright. “We are thankful for your support and our race weekends bring a sense of normalcy. We look forward to seeing you all this weekend and can’t wait for some more of that wheel-to-wheel action that we all live for.”
