Formula Mazda is thrilled to announce the inaugural Formula Mazda Summer Sizzle Presented by MK Technologies, an exclusive two-event, four-race summer championship that will bring the Formula Mazda FMzR machinery to two of the most celebrated road courses on the continent. The series will visit Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama, offering competitors a premium open-wheel experience at world-class venues.
The Formula Mazda Summer Sizzle is designed to celebrate the next generation model of one of North America’s most beloved open-wheel platforms. The FMzR — known for its responsive handling, reliable performance, and competitive racing — remains a favorite among drivers who value a pure, driver-focused experience. The Summer Sizzle will give both seasoned veterans and aspiring pros the opportunity to compete for a championship title across two unforgettable race weekends.
Road America’s sweeping 4.048-mile, 14-turn layout in the hills of Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region provides one of the most demanding and rewarding tests in all of motorsport, while Barber Motorsports Park’s 2.38-mile, 17-turn circuit near Birmingham, Alabama — universally regarded as one of the most beautiful and technically challenging road courses in the country — will serve as the championship finale. Together, the two venues offer a contrast in character that will reward the most complete and adaptable drivers in the field.
