The excitement of Formula FARA returned this past weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway as the series made its 2024 debut in sunny Florida. Powered by YACademy Group, the two-race event was a thriller!

The six-event weekend, 12-race championship attracted a mix of fresh, young talents from karting to seasoned drivers eager to tackle the challenge of open-wheel racing. A total of 11 drivers registered for this inaugural edition, representing four different teams and a variety of different talent levels. Among them were many young drivers aged between 13 and 16, experiencing their first race and event of this magnitude, making it a truly unique and unforgettable experience for the drivers and their families.

Qualifying, held on Saturday, was particularly intense, with Gaston Izaru of Scuderia Buell claiming the pole position as he would lead the field to the green flag for race one on Sunday.

Race day provided thrilling moments for teams, competitors, and spectators, with Gaston Izaru (Scuderia Buell) clinching the victory in the first wheel-to-wheel action of the season followed by Maite Caceres (International Motorsports) in second place and Teddy Musella (Scuderia Buell) in the third position. Race two, held on Sunday afternoon, saw the introduction of rain, adding an extra element of challenge for competitors. Teams quickly switched to their Cooper rain tires (provided by Tire Lord) with the starting grid for race two determined by inverting the results of qualifying, with Alex Bobadilla securing pole position alongside JT Hoskins.

Gaston Izaru once again emerged victorious, coming from the back of the grid to score his second win in as many races needing only ten short laps to find his way to the point and eventual checkered flag. Teddy Musella scored the second step on the podium with Beckham Jacir finishing third.

The day concluded with a memorable podium ceremony, marking a successful return for Formula FARA.

This inaugural FARA Formula presented by Tire Lord event marks the beginning of a series of six race weekends scheduled between the Homestead-Miami Speedway and Sebring International Raceway from March to November 2024.
