After a groundbreaking inaugural season that crowned Gaston Irazu the first Formula FARA Champion, the series is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season. With new car updates, expanded safety features, and a national-level calendar, Formula FARA is poised to elevate the motorsport experience for teams and drivers with race events throughout the Southeast.
The 2025 season will include some weekends outside Florida, introducing drivers to renowned tracks such as NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, Atlanta Motorsports Park in the great state of Georgia, and one additional track that is yet to be determined. These additions join iconic Florida venues Sebring International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, offering competitors a diverse and challenging event lineup.
Formula FARA Owner and Series Manager Gustavo Yacamán has worked closely with industry partners to develop a roll-bar halo system called the J-Lo Cockpit Protection System for the Honda Ligier JS F4 cars to improve safety and modernize the series. This feature will enhance driver protection and can be retrofitted onto more than one hundred cars nationwide. Additionally, redesigned rear wing end plates will debut in 2025, giving the cars a fresh, contemporary look.
“I’m thrilled with how the updated cars have turned out,” explained Yacamán. “They not only look fantastic but also incorporate key safety improvements. Next season, we will continue to focus on providing drivers with plenty of track time to master these incredible circuits, ensuring they are prepared to compete at their best.”
The season begins with winter testing and a Spring Race Shootout, where drivers will compete for a $21,000 prize fund to be distributed among the top-three finishers and applied toward their full-season entry fees. The championship will then span six rounds and 14 races, with the ultimate champion earning a test day in a USF Juniors car—furthering Formula FARA’s mission to nurture young talent in motorsports.
