Joining the growing Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy F4 program in late 2018, Canadian Ryan MacDermid is set to return to the karting ranks next weekend. Rejoining the Prime Power Team BirelART operation of Trevor Wickens, MacDermid will throw his hat in the mix in the Vortex ROK Senior class at next weekend’s Florida Winter Tour event at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

“I love karting and when I was given the opportunity to get behind the wheel, I could not say no,” explained MacDermid. “Trevor has been a great Team Owner, and he and his family really look out for my best interests. I know I would not have received the phone call if he wasn’t confident that we have the chance to win, so I am hoping that I can come through and deliver.”

Returning to karting after a one-month foray into the formula car world, Ryan MacDermid is excited about what the future has in store and his increasing schedule in 2019.

MacDermid continued, “Right now, I have a lot of opportunities and it is great to be able to stay in the seat as often as I have been. I am confirmed to compete in the second round of the Florida Winter Tour next weekend as well as the complete F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda with Alliance Racing. We also have several car tests planned leading up to the season opener at the end of April as well as some more opportunities to do some more karting. We just have to see how things shake out and I am crossing my fingers that there are no conflicts.”

As the 2018 ROK Cup USA ROK the RIO Champion in ROK Senior, MacDermid is an instant threat for victory on the temporary layout adjacent to the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the 2020 Super Bowl.

“It is great to have Ryan back under the tent as he is an instant leader and brings another driver to our program that provides experience and success,” explained Trevor Wickens, Owner of Prime Power Team. “We have great engines, top of the line chassis and with Ryan behind the wheel, we have the complete package that can win each and every weekend.”

With his success on temporary circuits in the past and his tenacious attitude towards winning, MacDermid has one goal over the February 14-17 weekend: win.

Unofficial practice begins on Thursday, February 14th with qualifying and heat races beginning on Friday and continuing through Saturday. Prefinals and main events will take place on Sunday and when the final checkered flag falls on the ROK Senior class, MacDermid is determined to be the first one to cross the stripe.
