Making the trek to Spain for his third career GP3 Series start, American driver JM Correa would join his Jenzer Motorsport squad and look to continue his progression and build on his experience. In his first GP3 Series race that was not held in conjunction with a Formula One World Championship event weekend, Correa ended the weekend with improvement as he now shifts his focus to the final race of the season.
While many goals were set for the weekend, the main one was achieved with Correa able to complete each and every lap of competition in both events without forced retirement, as well as decrease the time gap to the much more experienced front running competitors.
With only one practice session before official qualifying, Correa would use that session to familiarize himself with the Jerez Circuit while getting up to speed in his Jenzer Motorsport prepared GP3 Series car. Qualifying in the 18th position, the American driver was able to move forward in both races on the weekend scoring 15th and 16th place results, and completed every official lap of competition throughout the weekend.
With six weeks off, Correa will begin to prepare for the final GP3 Series event of the 2017 season that will run alongside the Formula One season finale November 24-26 at the Yas Marina Circuit in the United Arab Emirates. Also, following the event weekend, the GP3 Series will hold an official three-day test at the same circuit to prepare for the upcoming 2018 racing season which Correa will participate in.
JM Correa would like to thank all his marketing partners in 2017 including Jenzer Motorsport, US Performance Academy, Faico-Motriz, NOE Sushi Bar and Bell Helmets.
