It was a podium-winning weekend in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for EVR Motorsports. In a weekend that featured three races, weather and track changes, and more, Louis Schriber and Evan Slater stood on the podium earning hardware for Radical Cup North America’s newest race team.

After three test sessions on Thursday, Friday saw EVR Motorsports drivers hit the track for the ever-important qualifying session that set the grid for race one. Louis Schriber, Jim Booth, and Gregg Gorski all earned top-five results in the Platinum class, slotting into the second, third, and fifth place positions, respectively, while Evan Slater was fifth in Pro 1500, and Richard Durocher was classified in 11th.

Race one on the weekend rolled off the grid late in the day on Friday and featured multiple caution periods that jumbled up the running order. Working hard to keep their positioning at the front of the field, EVR Motorsports earned one podium result and four top-five finishes led by Platinum class driver Luis Schriber. Schriber led a trio of EVR drivers in the top-five in class with a P3 result as Jim Booth and Gregg Gorski followed closely in fourth and fifth. Evan Slater just missed a podium result in Pro 1500, crossing the stripe in the fourth position with Durocher in 12th.

Returning to the famed Road America on Saturday morning, Mother Nature was not kind to teams and competitors in all series as rain flooded the track and put the day on a hold. While the Radical Cup North America program was on track during a downpour, race two was only six laps in length with a short green, white, checkered to end the day. Schriber earned his second podium result in as many days with a second-place result with Gorski just on the outside of the top-five in sixth. Jim Booth kept it on the track through the six-lap affair to finish eighth.

EVR Motorsports’ third podium finish of the weekend came at the hand of Evan Slater as he had a solid result, finishing second, while Richard Durocher tiptoed his way through race two and earned himself a top-ten result to finish ninth.

Sunday would see blue skies, sunshine, and podium finishes for EVR Motorsports. In the Platinum class, Schriber battled hard at the front of the field and, though he had a shot at the win, had to settle for second when the final checkered flag flew in the Platinum class. Jim Booth was just shy of the podium again in race three, crossing the line fourth to add another top-five finish to his resume, while Gregg Gorski did not take the start of the race. In the Pro 1500 ranks, Slater added his second podium result in as many days, finishing second on Sunday, just two seconds behind the eventual race winner. Richard Durocher added another top-ten result for the team in tenth.

“It was a challenging weekend, but in the end, a good one for us,” explained EVR Motorsports Mike Eyler. “As a team, we had to overcome some obstacles and weather, but worked hard to do so and were rewarded with results.”

Next up for EVR Motorsports and the rest of the Radical Cup North America program will be a trip to the West Coast and the famed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in less than two weeks to once again compete alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
