HMD Motorsports is excited to announce that Evagoras Papasavvas will compete this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park for the second round of the INDY NXT by Firestone season. Papasavvas will pilot the #24 HMD Motorsports Dallara IL-15 during the Grand Prix of Alabama, stepping into the eight-car effort.
This announcement comes after a successful recent test session at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where Papasavvas gained valuable seat time and worked closely with the HMD Motorsports engineering staff to prepare for the weekend ahead.
While Papasavvas was named as a reserve driver for HMD Motorsports earlier in the season, the young Ohio native and 17-year-old rising talent is set for his series debut. Focused on making the most of this exciting opportunity at one of the most demanding tracks on the calendar, the debutant is excited and anxious to get going.
“I’m incredibly excited to join HMD Motorsports for the Grand Prix of Alabama,” explained Evagoras Papasavvas. “After a productive test at Mid-Ohio, I feel ready to take on the challenge. The car is amazing, and the team has made me feel right at home. I’m grateful to HMD Motorsports for the opportunity, and I’m focused on delivering the best result possible and learning as much as I can this weekend.”

The weekend will kick off with a single practice session on Friday, followed by Practice 2 and Qualifying on Saturday. The Grand Prix of Alabama will take place on Sunday, May 4th at 11:30 AM EST, airing live on FS1.
