Hailing from Ohio, Evagoras Papasavvas will make his return to competition karting next weekend at the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals in Las Vegas. While competing in both karts and testing cars in 2021, Evagoras will make the trek to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) with the Trinity Karting outfit as he competes in the X30 Junior class over the December 1-5 weekend.
Having not competed in a national level karting event since July, Evagoras is entering the event weekend with realistic goals.
“We have been preparing and focusing on our 2022 program which we will hopefully be able to announce soon, but whenever you get the chance to race the SuperNats, you take that opportunity,” explained Papasavvas. “We believe karting continues to be an important learning platform, even while transitioning to cars, so when the opportunity arose to race in Vegas, I could not say no.”
Testing both a Ligier F4 and Tatuus USF2000 for Jay Howard Driver Development throughout the season, Evagoras has filled in some off weekends with SKUSA Winter Series, United States Pro Kart Series and Stars Championship action as well as local race events in Cincinnati.
Evagoras added, “I have stayed in the seat and behind the wheel, but the SuperNats will definitely be the biggest event in quite some time that I have entered and with that, I have set realistic goals. On top of that, it will be my first time in the X30 Junior chassis in a big national event. As a racer you always want to win and that doesn’t change but we will see how practice and qualifying goes and then adjust from there.”
Progressing through karting and looking to climb the open-wheel motorsports ladder, Evagoras will compete in SuperNats 24 in the X30 Junior class in a X30 Junior prepared Kart Republic chassis. With only six practice sessions throughout Wednesday and Thursday to get it all right, qualifying will also take place on Thursday before heat races commence on Friday. Three wheel-to-wheel races will set the grid for Super Sunday’s main event where Evagoras is hoping to see his name at the top of the results sheets.
