Confirmed this past weekend, multi-time United States Rotax Grand Nationals Champion Dylan Tavella will be back at the 2018 edition of the prestigious event. In a ‘Bringing The Band Back Together’ effort, Tavella will rejoin PSL Karting and BirelART with long-time tuner and driver coach Charlie Swayne as well as take advantage of Rotax tuning guru and PSL Karting’s in house engine builder Disco Dan Lambert.

“There were only three karting events that I wanted to do in 2018,” explained Tavella. “The Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SummerNationals at New Castle Motorsports Park as it is one of my favorite tracks, the SKUSA SuperNationals because it is the biggest race in the world and the Rotax Grand Nationals to try and go for four national championships in four different classes.”

Making the move to the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda with the potent Miller Vinatieri Motorsports squad for 2018, Tavella returns to karting with a colorful Rotax racing results resume. As a multi-time member of Team USA at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, Tavella has secured a trio of Rotax national titles in all three classes that he has entered including Micro, Mini and Junior Max. This year he will enter Rotax Senior.

Tavella added, “To my knowledge, only Nick Neri has claimed four Rotax Grand National Championships in four different divisions and I have the opportunity to do the same this year. I can’t thank PSL Karting, Charlie Swayne from Iron Rock Motorsports as well as BirelArt and Disco Dan for the incredible opportunity.”

“I’m really happy to have Dylan back with our program,” explained PSL Karting President Dominic Lebrecque. “Dylan is a great driver and we have won many races together in the past. It will be great to have him and his family in the PSL Karting operation and representing the BirelART line of products.”

Competing for a spot to join Team USA in the Rotax Senior division at the 2018 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals later this season in Brazil, Tavella has dubbed the 2018 United States Grand Nationals as ‘Operation Rotax – Bringing the Band Back Together.’

“I can’t wait to get back to the kart track and see some of my old competitors and friends,” continued Tavella. “I have one goal during the week and that is to secure another Rotax National Championship for myself and PSL Karting.”
