It is officially race week as Danny Dyszelski heads out to Road America to compete in his second dual event weekend of 2023. Set to take on the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires program with VRD Racing, Dyszelski and WISKO Racing will look to extend his championship point lead in the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series at the 4.048-mile, 14-turn natural terrain road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
“It is a busy weekend, but I am up for the challenge,” explained Dyszelski who will take part in five wheel-to-wheel races over the weekend spanning across both open-wheel and sportscar programs. “The goal is to extend my championship point lead in Radical Cup and get back on track with results in USF2000, and I am confident that both are very possible this weekend.”
USF2000
Showing his speed in the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires series, Dyszelski enters Road America looking to get back on track after a recent string of bad luck. Proving that he has what it takes, Dyszelski’s bright spot in his 2023 campaign was a solid run at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course in May that netted him a top-five result. An impressive qualifying effort at the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park was dashed by a suspension failure in the opening lap, but the South Carolina resident is poised to fight for the win at Road America.
The VRD Racing entry of Dyszelski will hit the track Thursday for test sessions before a pair of qualifying sessions on Friday. Saturday will be the home to a pair of wheel-to-wheel races and hopeful victories for Danny Dyszelski.
Radical Cup
As one of the favorites to claim the top step of the podium in the Pro 1500 class, Dyszelski enters Road America as the current point leader in both his class and the overall Championship. As a multi-time, victor in 2023, Dyszelski is aiming to add to his win total and extend his point margin.
The jam-packed weekend will kick off on Thursday for Radical Cup with qualifying and the first race of the weekend on Friday. Two more wheel-to-wheel races will commence over the course of the weekend with the final race on Sunday, just after the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race.
