It was a winning weekend for Jason Alder. Having not scored a victory since the first event of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda way back in April, the Velocity Racing Development (VRD) rookie was back on top scoring a pair of race wins at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

“It feels good to pick up two more wins this season and close some of the points gap in the Championship. The icing on the cake for me was having my family and friends who aren’t usually able to attend the races share the wins with me,” explained Jason. “We have had a bit of a dry spell mid-season, and I think we have a lot of momentum heading into the finale at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). I can’t wait for the opportunity to do what I love during the F1 weekend in Texas. I’ve got to thank Dan Mitchell, Andy Parker, Dakota Dickerson and the whole VRD team for their dedication and professionalism. They truly bring out the best in me.”

Alder would start the official part of the race weekend with a valiant effort in qualifying to claim the third fastest lap of the session and inside row two starting spot for race one. Jumping out to the lead early, a few cautions affected the pace of the race as only nine laps were officially completed. In the end, it was the #77 entry of Jason Alder who was the first to receive the checkered flag as he was declared the round 13 winner, his third win of the season.

The second wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend took place on Saturday afternoon and Alder was aiming to repeat the performance of his victory that morning. Starting seventh on the grid that was determined by the fastest lap in race one, Alder advanced forward and ultimately lead some laps but dipping two wheels off the track in a corner resulted in losing several spots.   Jason finished the race in fifth and scored another ten points in the championship battle.

For race three on the weekend on Sunday afternoon, Alder began his quest for another win from the fourth position. Showing his true skills and why he is destined to be a future champion in the world of motorsports, Alder quickly worked his way to the front of the field and never looked back to take his second win of the weekend and fourth of the 2021 season.

As the driver who scored the most points in Virginia, Jason Alder moved from fourth to third in the championship points battle and is only twenty-five points behind the current point leader. With a maximum of fifty points up for grabs at the series finale at the Circuit of the Americas in less than a month, Alder is in the thick of the championship battle.
