With a long drive back from Utah to Indianapolis, Supertune is doing it with two more trophies to add to their collection. Scoring a pair of podium results at the Superkarts! USA SpringNationals, X30 Junior driver Noah Baker and Mini Swift competitor Diego Ardiles represented the Tony Kart brand and Supertune on the blocks at the Utah Motorsports Campus.
Competing in a pair of classes, Noah Baker earned one podium finish and three top-ten results. With his finishes not representing the true pace of his Supertune prepared Tony Kart, Baker finished second in Saturday’s X30 Junior main event and backed that up with a solid sixth place finish on Sunday. Showing pace in the KA100 Junior class, the young Texan added a tenth-place result in Saturday’s final before being forced to the sidelines of Sunday’s main event after contact.
Fellow Supertune driver and X30 Junior competitor Fernando Luque had a good weekend as he battled against a stout field of junior drivers. Showing progression with each passing weekend, Luque earned a 21st place finish on Saturday and improved that in Sunday’s main event to cross the stripe in 19th.
Supertune’s second podium result of the weekend came from Mini Swift driver Diego Ardiles. Always a threat for race wins and podium results, Ardiles drove to the third step of the podium in Saturday’s final before returning Sunday to finish sixth.
“It was a good weekend for us and even though the results were not what we had hoped for, we did show very well,” explained Ben Cruttenden. “The SKUSA program has some very tough competition and to be at the pointy end of the grid is good.”
