Already a race winner in 2021 including three podiums and one victory only a few weeks ago, Doran Motorsports Group (DMG) will enter the rest of the season as Doran-Kroll Competition. Set to compete in the remainder of the Formula Pro USA Western Championship and select events in the F4 United States Championship and FR Americas Championship, Doran-Kroll Competition will not only focus on race wins and podium results, but also nurturing driver and engineering talent, as well as sponsorship for the future.
“We welcome Jerry to the family and can’t wait to start this important collaboration moving forward,” explained Doran-Kroll Competition’s Francois Doran. “Jerry will use our newly branded program to assist in finding some new financial alliances, partners, sponsors and talent for the future. Jerry has been a sponsor of some of our drivers in the past but now, he is part of the new Doran-Kroll Competition program.”
Known for their front of the field presence, DMG will be branded Doran-Kroll Competition effective immediately but will still operate under the same ownership and management hierarchy.
Doran continued, “It is my belief that by bringing in a solid name with a success story such as his, we will be able to tap into a special commercial audience that will see the benefits of partnering with a fast-growing team like ours. However, the Ownership and Management structure will remain unchanged, and we will continue to operate our successful program as is.”
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Jerry Kroll is a successful businessman and the Founder of ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corporation. (Nasdaq:SOLO). Kroll grew up near the famous Westwood Kart Track in British Columbia and watched 1970’s Formula Atlantic races featuring Gilles Villeneuve, Keke Rosberg, Bobby Rahal and many other legends. Jerry has also acted as the sponsorship agent for famous drivers such as Stefan Johansson, Scott Dixon, Greg Moore, Scott Sharp and many other top-level racers. Kroll now manages Marco Kacic Racing Inc., who he believes is the next big name in top level motorsports.
Besides racing SCCA Formula Enterprise and his own innovative electric cars, Jerry is also a private pilot and has ran over forty marathons to date, including five completions of the famous Boston Marathon.
“I’ve been involved in the motorsports industry, primarily in IndyCar, since the late 1980’s,” added Jerry Kroll. “Joining Francois in developing new driver talent, engineering talent and hopefully clean technology racing cars is an exciting next phase of the business. “
