Doran-Kroll Competition recently made its long-awaited F3 debut at the third and fourth rounds of the Formula Pro USA (FPUSA) Championship Series last weekend at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Competing in the F3 side of the program with 2019 FPUSA F4 champion Marco Kacic, Athreya Ramanan would compete under the Doran-Kroll Competition umbrella in F4 as both drivers found success in Northern California.

“Great weekend for the team overall,” explained Francois Doran. “Congrats to Marco on his first career F3 win and to Athreya for his second F4 podium result of the season. We will continue to push and elevate the game of our competition as we fight for race wins and podium results moving forward throughout the season.”

On Saturday, Marco put his Lordco Auto Parts branded F3 on the pole position scoring the fastest lap in qualifying and followed it up with the team’s first F3 win of the season and first in the F3 ranks. After a dominating performance and setting fastest lap of race one, Kacic once again had pole position for the second race of the double header. Returning Sunday and looking to go two-for-two, Kacic ran into some minor issues with his Ligier JSF3 on track, but he did not give up. Fighting to earn a second place result, the Doran-Kroll team is very happy with a first and second place finishes in their F3 debut weekend.

“I’m so thankful for Doran-Kroll Competition and Lordco Auto Parts for having faith in me to represent them this year in F3 competition,” explained Kacic. “In 2019 we were able to win together in our F4 debut and now we have done it again in F3. Can’t wait for our next event as we look to keep the momentum rolling.”

Doran-Kroll Competition rookie driver Athreya Ramanan performed extremely well in his Zenoti backed Lordco Auto Parts F4 at the second round of the Formula Pro USA F4 series. Athreya claimed his first F4 podium during the first round at Thunderhill Raceway Park and followed it up with claiming his second podium result of the season at Laguna Seca. Ramanan brought his Doran-Kroll Competition machine home in third position in the first race of the weekend and followed that up in race two with a fourth-place effort. Showing excellent speed and race craft at rounds three and four, Ramanan is now sitting in second position in the overall F4 points point standings

“I had a great time with the team at Laguna Seca,” added Athreya Ramanan. “The first race was fun, and I enjoyed the podium. Although the second race didn’t go as planned, I learned a lot about my driving and the car and will come back strong for the next race weekend.

With very little down time before the next event, Doran-Kroll Competition is looking forward to rounds five and six of the Formula Pro USA Championship at the famed Sonoma Raceway.
