Things are looking up for Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires rookie and BN Racing driver David Malukas. Fresh off a fourth-place finish at Road America a few weekends ago, Malukas is eager to carry the momentum forward into this coming race weekend north of the border in Canada. Heading to the Streets of Toronto, Malukas will be competing in rounds ten and eleven of the 2019 Championship season on the 1.786-mile temporary street circuit over the July 12-14th weekend.

“We definitely struggled in the beginning at Road America,” Malukas explained. “However, we managed to pull it all together for the final race, and we were able to leave with a renewed sense of confidence which we will use throughout the remainder of the season. I’m excited to be heading back to Toronto; I had two top-five results in St. Petersburg, and I am confident I can achieve strong results this weekend.”

Earlier this season, Malukas was able to achieve two fourth-place finishes in St. Petersburg at the only other street circuit on the schedule before his first career Indy Lights podium at the Circuit of the Americas a few short weeks later. Last season, while competing in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship, Malukas showed great speed in Toronto qualifying second for both races, so he definitely knows his way around the barrier-lined circuit.

With the first half of the season complete, Malukas is heading into this weekend sitting sixth in the championship point standings and will be aiming for a solid points haul in Toronto.

With one and only practice session on Friday morning, Malukas will look to put track knowledge to good use in the short forty-minute session. Saturday will be the home of both qualifying and race one on the weekend while Sunday’s schedule will be a carbon copy to Saturday’s as race two will take place prior to the eleventh round of the NTT IndyCar Series.
