Danny Dyszelski and Radical Cup North America traveled to Leeds, Alabama this past weekend to race alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES at Barber Motorsports Park. Dyzselski, driving for RySpec Racing, fought through issues early in the weekend to come home with a podium result and a couple of top-ten finishes as he now shifts his focus to his next event.

Dyszelski and the rest of the Radical Cup field first took to the 2.3 mile, 17-turn road course on Thursday for two test sessions. In test one, the RySpec Racing driver was straight on the pace and was the third-quickest driver of the session in the talent-filled Pro 1500 class. He was quick again in test two and set the fourth-fastest time.

In qualifying on Friday, Dyszelski suffered from a broken water hose, which meant he could not set a competitive time for fear of hurting the engine. Issues continued for Dyzelski into race one, where he was late to the race start and ultimately had to pull off the course with an issue that was an extension to the qualifying problem.

“The issues we had prevented us from showing our potential in qualifying and the first race,” Dyszelski explained. “It was miserable given the pace we had Thursday; I think we could have had a great day.”

After a tough Friday, Dyszelski made a strong comeback Saturday morning, fighting at the front for the entirety of race two and ultimately finishing third on the podium. Dyszelski had another strong race in race three, piloting his #88 to a sixth-place finish after battling close to the front of the field in Pro 1500.

“It felt excellent to be back on the podium today, and a top-ten finish to close out the weekend was nice too,” Dyszelski added. “This weekend wasn’t easy, but we fought hard and got some solid results, so a huge thank you to the RySpec team.”

Now, Dyszelski will turn his attention to the Sebring International Raceway. Will he make his SRO Motorsports GT4 America debut with RySpec Racing in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 before restarting his USF Pro 2000 campaign with Turn 3 Motorsport at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 9-11.
