Gearing up to finish the season strong, Danial Frost will join HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing for the next three weekends in back-to-back-to-back events for the final four races of the INDY NXT by Firestone season. First up on the schedule will be the final oval race of 2023 this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
While Frost struggled earlier this season at Iowa Speedway due to early race damage, the only other oval race on the schedule this year, he showed his oval racing skill last season at World Wide Technology Raceway in 2022 where he drove up three positions and finished just off the podium in fourth. With one win already to his name this season, Frost is looking to return to the podium.
Although both Iowa Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway are the only two ovals on the schedule, WWTR brings a special set of characteristics with varying degrees of banking and a unique egg shape resulting in a variety of corners that will test Frost’s ability.
In the Championship, a series of inconsistent results have resulted in Frost currently sitting eighth in the driver standings, 36 points outside of the top-five. With four races remaining, Frost still has the ability to move up through the standings if he can deliver a series of clear, strong races.
Following the one-day event in Indianapolis just a few weeks ago, INDY NXT by Firestone will again complete all on-track sessions in a single-day event with practice, qualifying, and the 75-lap race all taking place on Saturday in between the NTT INDYCAR SERIES sessions.
