DANIAL FROST LOOKS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS AT ROAD AMERICA

In a season that has seen five different winners in five different races, HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing driver Danial Frost remains in the fight for the INDY NXT by Firestone Championship as the season approaches the half-way point. Currently fourth in the Championship battle, only six points separate Danial from third and 46 points from the overall lead.

INDY NXT by Firestone returns for action this weekend, June 16-18, at Road America on the legendary four-mile circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the INDYCAR ladder program, fans will experience an action-packed weekend with non-stop racing.

After starting the season off with a win in the Streets of St. Petersburg, Danial hit a rut for a few races resulting in less-than-ideal finishes. However, Frost began to turn his season around two weeks ago in Detroit where he earned a fifth-place finish during the second wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend.

“I love Road America and it is a place that I have had success at in the past,” expressed Danial. “The track features new pavement, which should decrease lap time and provide the opportunity for new track records. At the end of the day, the goal is to win and claw our way back up to the championship point lead.”

Coming off a double-header weekend, drivers will return to a standard weekend schedule with two practice sessions prior to qualifying on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning’s race just prior to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America.

Friday, June 16
2:50pm – 3:35pm – Practice 1

Saturday, June 17
9:50am – 10:35am – Practice 2
1:15pm – 1:35pm – Qualifying

Sunday, June 18
11:10am – 10:10am – Race, 20 laps
