DANIAL FROST IS CONTINUING THE FIGHT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER A WIN IN ST PETERSBURG

After making history on the Streets of St. Petersburg by becoming the first driver to win in the newly renamed INDY NXT by Firestone program, Danial Frost keeps his attention focused on pursuing additional wins this season. As Danial heads into Barber Motorsport Park after a nearly two-month break, the HMD Motorsports driver is eager to get back in his #68 Denjet-branded machine this weekend.

Frost is familiar with the 2.38 miles, permanent road course located in Leeds, Alabama, and in the 2022 race, he made up four positions driving from eighth to fourth just missing out on a podium result as conditions went from wet to dry as the race continued. Finishing the weekend in P4, Danial is determined to stand on the podium and continue the fight for the championship.

“I remember the hard-fought battle last year, and I am ready to stand on the podium this year and continue to fight in this year’s championship chase,” Danial explained when asked about looking ahead to the race weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. “I am leading the points tally right now and would love to leave Alabama with that intact.”

During the time off Danial has been keeping up with training both on and off the track. Back in the car for the first time since St. Petersburg on April 6th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the INDY NXT open test day, Frost and his squad prepared for round three, prior to round two this weekend.

INDY NXT by Firestone brings the action all three days at Barber Motorsports Park starting Friday. Coming in strong with a pair of practice sessions to kick off the weekend, Saturday will feature a qualifying session that will set the grid for round two on Sunday.
