It is time for round seven of the 2023 INDY NXT by Firestone season taking place this weekend at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. For Danial Frost, the driver of the #68 DenJet branded entry for HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing, it’s time to focus on the fight for the championship.
Danial started the season off strong by winning round one on the Streets of St. Petersburg and has been in the championship battle from the beginning. Currently sitting fifth heading into Mid-Ohio this weekend, Frost is looking to put some bad luck behind him and continue to push HMD Motorsports ride to further podium successes. With only ten points separating him from the fourth-place driver, Danial is focused on regaining the upper hand on the competition going into the second half of the season.
“I am eager and excited to get back on track at Mid-Ohio as I have experienced success at this track in the past,” expressed the HMD Motorsports driver. “I claimed a pole position in 2021 followed by two second-place finishes for the doubleheader weekend that same year.”
Danial explained when asked about his feelings towards the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. “Alongside my previous knowledge, I am looking forward to adding to my results resume. We have the best team in the paddock and the most experienced engineering team, so there should be no reason why we are not fighting for victory come Sunday.”
The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is located just outside of Lexington, Ohio. The 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course will be action filled this weekend. Alongside the INDY NXT by Firestone series, the NTT INDYCAR Series will be the main event of the weekend. Other supporting series include USF2000, and USF Pro 2000, both series which lead into the INDYCAR Ladder Series program.
