Canadian driver Dale Curran Jr. has confirmed his participation to Team Koene USA beginning at two prestigious events in Las Vegas, Nevada. First, Curran will do battle in the US Open finale before showing his speed at the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals and onwards into the 2017 season. With his first event set for the temporary circuit on the grounds of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, Curran will join the potent Koene USA operation to learn the team and event for future seasons as well as his assault on a full calendar of racing in 2017.
“We would like to welcome Dale to our program as we look to help him hone his skills and gain experience in some of North America’s largest karting events,” explained Team Principal Mike Maurini. “I had the opportunity to meet Dale and his family at the 2016 Florida Winter Tour as well as work with them at the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup event at New Castle Motorsports Park this past weekend. They are passionate about the sport, yet have fun while at the race track. We are happy to have them officially in the Team Koene USA program.”
“Koene USA has been a team that we have looked at for quite sometime,” explained Dale Curran Sr. “We have seen them at all the big races and their professionalism is second to none. I had the ability to speak with several families, past and present, in the program and they have nothing but rave reviews. I am excited to move forward and feel that Dale has a chance to flourish and showcase his skills in a highly credited driver advancement program.”
Curran, who was the third place finisher in the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship (ECKC) Rotax Mini MAX championship as well as had some impressive results at the 2016 Florida Winter Tour, is set for a jam-packed schedule in 2017.
Maurini continued, “After the US Open finale and SuperNationals, Dale will join us at the 2017 Florida Winter Tour in Rotax Mini MAX as well as the SuperKarts! USA Pro Tour where he will make his Junior debut. We have discussed testing options to get him accustomed to the full size Tony Kart chassis so we can work on his performance in his learning year. We will see where that leads as we have several options for more events once the final schedule details for all series are released.”
Dale Curran and family would like to thank BirelArt and Ben Cooper Racing for all that they have done in Curran’s karting career.
