The Radical Cup North America series kicked off its 2024 season at Sebring International Raceway this past weekend and Crown Racing with APEX quickly established themselves as the front runners for the Pro 1340 Championship. The 3.741-mile-long track in the Sunshine State is a new addition to the regular series schedule and proved to be a new fan and competitor favorite after the weekend took the final checkered flag on Sunday.

On top of scoring pole position for every single race, Chris McMurry took home a win in the first two races of the weekend. The second race saw McMurry in a league of his own, passing several Pro 1500 cars, giving him a strong buffer between him and his teammate Seth Bacon. Returning veteran Bacon was on McMurry’s heels throughout the weekend, claiming runner-up to his teammate in races one and two. Race three saw Chris McMurry cross the finish line in first followed by Seth Bacon in third but a post-race penalty rescinded McMurry’s win along with the second-place competitor and advanced Seth Bacon into his first win of the season.

“I’m proud of the Crown Racing team this weekend,” explains Team Manager Joey Martin. “We came to win, not just to compete, and I think we made that clear with our results. The team will be feeling good after this weekend, but we’ve got the championship in mind, and we’ll keep pushing towards the next race. Now it’ll just be hard work up until round two at Barber Motorsports Park in seven weeks.”

The next Radical Cup North America race will take place at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama at the end of April as Crown Racing with Apex and the rest of the Radical teams and competitors will share the track with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES for the first of four events this season. Stay tuned to Crown Racing’s social media pages for updates on the final few APEX Motor Club race events of the year.
