The Arizona-based Crown Racing with APEX heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend for the final round of the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season, racing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Coming into the final weekend, Crown leads the Team Championship in Pro 1340, with a great chance of taking both the Team and Driver titles.
Crown Racing’s regular father-son Pro 1340 lineup of Seth and Jace Bacon both go into the final race weekend with a chance of winning the Driver Championship. Jace currently sits in second and Seth is right behind him in third, and with how close the championship standings are, the fight could come down to the final race Sunday. Last time out at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Seth scored two podiums, and Jace scored a win and two second-place finishes.
In addition to the regular lineup, Chris McMurry from APEX Motor Club will race in the 1340 class. McMurry joined the team at COTA and scored two wins. Also joining Crown this weekend in Pro 1340 are Eric Griffin and Carl Fredrikson, sponsored by ITM Trading, Evan Wolf who has support by Wolf Eye Center, and Vince Switzer sponsored by SwissTeknik.
Jason Plotke, the eighth and final driver for Crown Racing this weekend, will run in the Platinum class after running for the team in Road America and COTA. In Texas, Plotke scored a top-five finish and is looking for another solid result on the 11-turn, 2.238-mile course.
The first practice session for the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series this weekend is on Friday morning. Races one and two take place on Saturday, and race three will run on Sunday. The full weekend schedule for the final round can be found below.
