CROWN RACING AIMS TO MAKE A STRONG START TO THE RADICAL CUP NORTH AMERICA SEASON

This weekend marks the return of the Radical Cup North America series with the season-opening event taking place in a new setting, the Sebring International Raceway. The intricate 17-turn track conveniently located in the Sunshine State is new to the series schedule in 2024 and will provide a clean slate for newcomers and those returning, like Crown Racing, to claim the various championship titles up for grabs this year.

Crown Racing, 2023 Team Champions in the Pro 1340 class, returns this season with one of their heavy hitters, Seth Bacon, who proved to be a tough competitor in his rookie campaign last year claiming runner-up in the Pro 1340 Driver Championship. Alongside him, Chris McMurry, a long-time Crown Racing veteran, joined the team for the last two events of 2023 claiming four wins and a top-five in the Pro 1340 class, and will look to carry that momentum into a full slate of competition in 2024.

“The team is looking forward to getting back to work in the Radical Cup North America program this season,” explains Team Manager Joey Martin. “The crew and drivers have been active at APEX Motor Club the entire off-season, getting to race in club competition, and I think that puts them in a good position heading into the season opener.”

Despite missing the pre-season series test at Sebring International Raceway in January, the Crown Racing team is prepared to have a strong start to their season at the same track for round one of six this year.

Bacon will pilot the number 333 SR3 XXR in the Pro 1340 class while McMurry will return with his number 200 SR3 XXR to make a dynamic duo in the 1340 ranks. In partnership with Racer Magazine, Chris McMurry will be featured in an ongoing episodic series on the Radical Motorsport YouTube page titled “A Radical Journey” which will take viewers on a journey from McMurry’s Radical racing start through the 2024 Radical Cup North America season. A new episode will air every Wednesday at 6:00 PM here.

The weekend is set to kick off with two testing sessions on Thursday followed by two practice sessions on Friday. Saturday will feature the only qualifying session of the weekend followed by a double dose of wheel-to-wheel racing. Sunday will see the final on track action of the weekend, making it a triple-race event. Live timing for the whole weekend can be found on the Race Monitor app or at race-monitor.com.
