The INDY NXT by Firestone series saw its final street course race of the season on the streets of Downtown Detroit this past weekend. As usual on a street course, fans witnessed chaos amongst the field, throwing a twist in many of the final results when the checkered flag flew. True to form in his Detroit events year after year, Christian Bogle gained several positions and will now change his focus from the tight confines of Detroit to the rolling hills of Road America this weekend.

The HMD Motorsports driver impressed in the race, claiming nine additional spots up from his starting position. Despite a starting position of 20th, Christian avoided most of the event’s chaos but didn’t get away without a scratch. With just a few laps to go, Bogle found himself at the end of a four-car pileup, as he had to come to a complete stop to avoid the incident. He was able to reverse and continue his race, claiming an 11th place at the checkered flag.

“We took advantage of the carnage that normally happens on a street course,” explains Bogle. “I stayed clean for the most part. After a tough qualifying, it felt good to claim nine spots in the race. We’ll keep pushing for a better result at Road America this weekend.”

Christian and the rest of HMD Motorsports will pick back up at the scenic Road America this weekend June 7-9 for the sixth race of the INDY NXT by Firestone season.
