INDY NXT by Firestone returns to racing at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois this weekend following a month-long break. HMD Motorsports driver Christian Bogle is looking to achieve more strong results in the final rounds of the season following his best finish of the season at the Iowa Speedway where he challenged for a podium result.
Last month at the Iowa Speedway, Bogle showed strength and speed, setting the quickest time in the sole practice session and earning a second row start for the race. In the race, a crash required significant cleanup, limiting drivers’ chances to make moves. Despite this, Bogle ran in third for much of the race and ultimately came home in sixth – his best finish of the season so far.
“Iowa was a tough but rewarding weekend,” Bogle explained. “We had great speed throughout the weekend, but a long safety car period meant we didn’t have much time to make moves, and blistering tires at the end of the race took us out of podium contention. Still, I’m proud of the result and excited to see what we can achieve this weekend on the second oval of the season.”
Bogle, who has a history of speed and strong results on ovals, is looking forward to the final stretch of the season, where three of the last four races make up the 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone oval program.
“Ovals are my favorite type of track, and the strong result at Iowa boosts my confidence heading into the final three ovals of the season,” Bogle added. “I’m confident that this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway will be good, and I think we can run at the front. The HMD Motorsports crew proved in Iowa that we can adapt to and overcome any curveballs thrown our way.”
Bogle and the rest of the INDY NXT competitors will take to the track in Madison, Illinois on Friday for practice and qualifying, and the Outfront Showdown is scheduled for Saturday at 3:55pm ET.
